Hello! My name is Chad S. Trutt

I'm a graphic designer from North Carolina, USA currently working for MET Studio located in London, England.

Latest Project: Mixtape concepts

I am very impressed with the Photoshop work of Mixtape cover designers. After being inspired by such sites as Mixtapewall.com and Officialpsds.com as well as datpiff.com I decided to give it a go. Since noticing that the majority are basically the same concept I wanted to push designing something different. Some of my inspiration is taken from Blue Note Jazz records as with the Tupac covers or my own ideas like the Biggie Smalls and Wu-Tang covers. Please click on the thumbnails to view larger versions of the covers. You can click next or previous that is located in the lower left corner of the larger versions.

Travel

Amsterdam, Holland - April 2009

Cynthia and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We arrived in Schipole Airport in Holland and took the the train to Central Station in Amsterdam. Checked into Hotel Esterea along the Singel Canal. After checking in we walked around looking for a place to eat. Friday we woke up early and walked along the Singel Canal looking for a place to eat breakfast. After breakfast we walked along the canal to the Flower Market and then to Waterloo Plein market. A typical market with touristy stuff. But around the back of we found the antique part which is what we want to find. After the market we walked down to the Van Gogh Museum. Unbelievable is the only work I can say. To see the painting I've only seen in books was just amazing. From sketches to the Potato Eaters, Self portraits, Sunflowers and A Stary Night were just breath taking. After the museum we walked to see Oude Kerk. A church dating back to the 1300's. After walking around the National Monument and the shopping district we walked to Anne Franks house. An unbelievable day with great weather. Saturday we walked around the city enjoying the canals and weather before checking out of the hotel and flying home.

Paris, France - March 2008

While my mom and sister were visiting us we took the EuroStar for an hours journey to Paris, France. The weather was not kind to us but we had a good time anyway. Taking bus tour through the Arc de Triomphe and on to the Eiffel Tower where we went up to the top and mailed ourselves an envelope because it is marked from the Eiffel Tower. We then ate lunch and went on a sightseeing cruise. When the weather was at its worse we went to the Louvre Museum. Getting back on a bus we went to Cathédrale Notre Dame just when the sun started to come out. We then hopped back on the EuroStar and were back in London in no time.

Brighton, England - March 2008

After a few days of London, Cynthia and I took my mom and sister down to the coast. Taking the train to Brighton Beach we walked from the train station to the beach. To not see sand on a beach was a first for me. The sounds of the water rushing up onto the rock and back out was an incredible sound I've never heard before. We walked down the boardwalk and had some fish and chips and walked to the Brighton Pier where there were games and rides. Leaving the beach we stumbled across The Lanes and found some great art shops with a lot of independent shops mixed in. We then returned to London for dinner.

Milan, Italy - February 2008

My colleague Riccardo and I flew to Milan, Italy for The Salon Mobile. A wonderful place with friendly people and great weather, expect for our last night. The city is turned into a design fair with the main part just outside the city at the fair grounds. Companies and young designer presenting new interior, product and furniture design was a lot to take in. We stayed with one of Riccardos friend that lived in the city and we walked everywhere. There were a lot of events at night to go to and we check out a lot of overly crowded places that we never stayed too long at. Our last night was with rain and no one with an umbrella. Our 2 days there were great.

Bath, England - June 2007

After returning to London from Edinburgh, Cynthia and I took the train from Paddington Station to Bath, England. After checking into our hotel we walked around finding a place to eat and seeing some sights. The next day we took a tour of the Roman Baths and walked around the town with summer showers every few minutes. We also went to the Jane Austen Centre.

Edinburgh, Scotland - June 2007

After spending a few days in London Cynthia I flew up to Edinburgh, Scotland. We spent 4 days in the Scotland capital city walking up and down the Royal Mile. We visited the Edinburgh Castle, took a tour of a scotch factory and Mary King's Close. At night we did a haunted tour which was really good. Our next to last day we signed up for a day tour for Scotland taking a bus through the Midlands and Highlands to Loch Ness where we toured Castle Urquhart before getting on a boat and cruising around Loch Ness. I had always seen on TV and heard the stories of Loch Ness and couldn't beleive that I was actually there. Truly was an amazing time.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show, London - May 2007

I had bought tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show before I left America. I truely amazing experience. I arrived early in the morning and walked around all day I felt a little out of place since I seemed to be one of the only younger persons there. Being a designer I found the displays to inspiring and attention to detail bang on.

Lille, France - May 2007

Travelled to Lille, France with a group of students. Took the EuroStar from St. Pancras direct to Lille, France. Did a very short walking tour and then a few hours for lunch and shopping before returning to the station to head back to London. The weather was beautiful but I didn't enjoy myself. Maybe it's the French? Or I just felt out of my element.
