About Me
Hi. My name is Chad. I’ve spent 10 years creating incredible graphic
design work. I’ve worked with small independent companies,
national firms, and even the international MET Studio. Regardless
of size, scale or geographic location, I know how to connect with a
company’s mission and communicate a message that’s heard.
I am currently the Lead Graphic Designer at ISS Research,
a sports nutrition company located in Charlotte, NC. I manage
the development of the OhYeah! Nutrition brand,
including social media, packaging/label design, marketing materials,
print ads, web banners, retail display signage, MLB signage, and
event graphics.
[Also] I am a Graphic Design Adjunct Instructor for the
International Academy of Design & Technology Online. Teaching
keeps my finger on the pulse of the design industry, and allows me to
invest in the new generation of designers. It’s a win-win as far as I’m
concerned.
I worked at MET Studio in London, England from 2007-2010 as a Senior Graphic Designer.
I created environmental graphics, way-finding, directional signage,
icons, branding, brochures, packaging, web and publication ads.
Check out my international work here. www.metstudio.com
I enjoy learning about screen-printing, art and cultures. I
have also volunteered my services to design the program cover and
ads for The Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
Awards I really like the work I create. Sometimes other people like
it too. The Media Arts Design Expo gave me the 1st and 2nd place award
for the Illustrator and Drawing categories. Awards won on projects worked on while with MET Studio, where I as
was responsible for full concept and design implementation of graphics include:

Travel
Traveling keeps my design work fresh. It keeps me growing as a designer, exposing myself to inspiration and pushing my art to be better.
Mallorca, Spain - May 2010
Cynthia and I took a spontaneous trip to the island of Mallorca Spain for a few days visiting my friend Rick in the city of Palma. The place we stayed was centrally located and everything was easy to walk to. We took an old wooden train up to Sóller for the day. On the way back the train was so crowded we had to stand in-between the carriages which was exciting. The rest of the time we spent in Palma visiting the Cathedral, walking along the beach and eating some great food.
Dublin and Kells, Ireland - February 2010
An early start to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. Cynthia and I flew to Dublin on Wednesday afternoon courtesy of Ryan Air. We then proceeded to the Central Dublin Hotel just south of Temple Bar area. After dropping off our things we walked around a bit and had some dinner. Thursday we did the touristy thing and hopped on the Dublin bus tour. You know these tours, where you can hop on and off the bus at various stops. Our first stop was the Guinness Factory at St. James's Gate. Even though Cynthia is not a Guinness drink she loved the experience. We had lunch there and a pint at the top in the Gravity Bar. We hopped back on the tour bus and made our way to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells. Dinner was at Nancy Hand's on the west side of Dublin. Friday we walked around a bit after breakfast and took a bus to Kells. We stayed at a friends daughter's family place. The next day we went back to Dublin airport and flew back to London. A short but memorable trip and one we've always wanted to do. One thing I can say is that the people that told us Dublin was expensive were spot on!
North Carolina, USA - Ocotober 2009
After 2 years and five days, Cynthia and I travelled back to America. For me it was a little overwhelming. Sitting in the Atlanta Airport waiting to fly up to North Carolina I was bombarded with News, Sports, and Americans everywhere. It took a few days to get use to American television again but soon enough I did. A few days after our return, my sister was married at Duke Gardens. A nice service and reception was had. We then travelled to the NC coast to visit friends for a few days. While in Durham it was nice to visit life long friends with whom I have kept in contact with for the past 18 years. Before we knew it we had to fly back to the UK. A fast 2 weeks but a very enjoyable 2 weeks.
Amsterdam, Holland - April 2009
Cynthia and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We arrived in Schipole Airport in Holland and took the the train to Central Station in Amsterdam. Checked into Hotel Esterea along the Singel Canal. After checking in we walked around looking for a place to eat. Friday we woke up early and walked along the Singel Canal looking for a place to eat breakfast. After breakfast we walked along the canal to the Flower Market and then to Waterloo Plein market. A typical market with touristy stuff. But around the back of we found the antique part which is what we want to find. After the market we walked down to the Van Gogh Museum. Unbelievable is the only work I can say. To see the painting I've only seen in books was just amazing. From sketches to the Potato Eaters, Self portraits, Sunflowers and A Stary Night were just breath taking. After the museum we walked to see Oude Kerk. A church dating back to the 1300's. After walking around the National Monument and the shopping district we walked to Anne Franks house. An unbelievable day with great weather. Saturday we walked around the city enjoying the canals and weather before checking out of the hotel and flying home.
Paris, France - March 2008
While my mom and sister were visiting us we took the EuroStar for an hours journey to Paris, France. The weather was not kind to us but we had a good time anyway. Taking bus tour through the Arc de Triomphe and on to the Eiffel Tower where we went up to the top and mailed ourselves an envelope because it is marked from the Eiffel Tower. We then ate lunch and went on a sightseeing cruise. When the weather was at its worse we went to the Louvre Museum. Getting back on a bus we went to Cathédrale Notre Dame just when the sun started to come out. We then hopped back on the EuroStar and were back in London in no time.
Brighton, England - March 2008
After a few days of London, Cynthia and I took my mom and sister down to the coast. Taking the train to Brighton Beach we walked from the train station to the beach. To not see sand on a beach was a first for me. The sounds of the water rushing up onto the rock and back out was an incredible sound I've never heard before. We walked down the boardwalk and had some fish and chips and walked to the Brighton Pier where there were games and rides. Leaving the beach we stumbled across The Lanes and found some great art shops with a lot of independent shops mixed in. We then returned to London for dinner.
Milan, Italy - February 2008
My colleague Riccardo and I flew to Milan, Italy for The Salon Mobile. A wonderful place with friendly people and great weather, expect for our last night. The city is turned into a design fair with the main part just outside the city at the fair grounds. Companies and young designer presenting new interior, product and furniture design was a lot to take in. We stayed with one of Riccardos friend that lived in the city and we walked everywhere. There were a lot of events at night to go to and we check out a lot of overly crowded places that we never stayed too long at. Our last night was with rain and no one with an umbrella. Our 2 days there were great.
Bath, England - June 2007
After returning to London from Edinburgh, Cynthia and I took the train from Paddington Station to Bath, England. After checking into our hotel we walked around finding a place to eat and seeing some sights. The next day we took a tour of the Roman Baths and walked around the town with summer showers every few minutes. We also went to the Jane Austen Centre.
Edinburgh, Scotland - June 2007
After spending a few days in London Cynthia I flew up to Edinburgh, Scotland. We spent 4 days in the Scotland capital city walking up and down the Royal Mile. We visited the Edinburgh Castle, took a tour of a scotch factory and Mary King's Close. At night we did a haunted tour which was really good. Our next to last day we signed up for a day tour for Scotland taking a bus through the Midlands and Highlands to Loch Ness where we toured Castle Urquhart before getting on a boat and cruising around Loch Ness. I had always seen on TV and heard the stories of Loch Ness and couldn't beleive that I was actually there. Truly was an amazing time.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show, London - May 2007
I had bought tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show before I left America. I truely amazing experience. I arrived early in the morning and walked around all day I felt a little out of place since I seemed to be one of the only younger persons there. Being a designer I found the displays to inspiring and attention to detail bang on.
Lille, France - May 2007
Travelled to Lille, France with a group of students. Took the EuroStar from St. Pancras direct to Lille, France. Did a very short walking tour and then a few hours for lunch and shopping before returning to the station to head back to London. The weather was beautiful but I didn't enjoy myself. Maybe it's the French? Or I just felt out of my element.
